Molly Doherty

Daniel is the proud uncle of Molly Doherty who was born on Tuesday 5th September at 2:45pm.

Daniel and I visited yesterday (Saturday) as she had just arrived home from the hospital.

Daniel was a very proud uncle and loved holding her.

No – Dan’s not scared… he’s making faces at his niece!

See – he was quite relaxed!

Sheep dog

I have one other toy that I love to play with – “Sheep”

Sheep looks a bit grubby now but she used to be a nice fluffy white toy. As you can see I like to play with her heaps. I think I like her because she is just a little bit smaller than me and is easy to throw over my head.

If you’ve ever seen “Click” the movie you have some idea of how I treat Sheep.
Needless to say – Sheep has been mended many times. But, even though he is now a little worse for wear – I still love him heaps.

“Pup”

I have a few other toys but coming a close second to Tinka is “Pup”.

Priscilla bought Pup in Adelaide when she went there on holidays last year for my 2nd birthday. I love Pup – he’s very soft and the same size as Tinka so is very easy to carry around.

I’m a very clever dog as I can distinguish between my toys. If you ask me “Where’s Pup?” I know that I have to go and look for Pup. Sometimes though, I can’t find Pup and so just grab any toy because I want to play and can’t remember where I left Pup since I last played with him.

“Tinka”

I’d like to introduce you to my favourite toy – Tinka.

Tinka was my first ever toy. Actually, Priscilla bought Tinka even before she bought me. Priscilla originally wanted to buy a kitten, but I stole her heart. Instead she bought a toy kitten for me. When I was little we were nearly the same size, but now I’m a lot bigger than Tinka.

Daniel likes Tinka as all he has to do is say “Where’s Tinka?” and I know that he wants to play fetch with me. Sometimes though, I think that he just wants to distract me as I’m probably annoying him at the time and he wants to be left alone.

As you can see – I know how I’m supposed to carry kittens in my mouth!

Bad hair days

Don’t you hate it when you have no control of how your hair is cut? I do.

I have had many various hair styles in my recent years that I am not proud of.

Here is one of my worst hair cuts ever!
taken in July 2005…

Then in November 2005 my hair style took a turn for the better
(I actually look like a dog now)

And now I currently look like this – don’t I look more handsome as I get older!

Introducing Hunnie

Everyone seems to be getting into this whole ‘blog thing’ so I thought “why not – my life is exciting too”.

So here I am writing about what I get up to and all my exciting adventures.

I was born on 13th April 2004 – which means I’m in my terrible 2’s (human years) and a troublesome teenager (dog years) – either way I’m a handful at the moment.

Firstly I’ll tell you a bit about myself…

I’m a Pomeranian Maltese dog. I have 3 brothers (I’m not sure where they all are as we were separated when we were a few weeks old. I have since found out that one of them died when still young)

When I was in the shop I was very little – I was the runt in my family. Most people stopped and played with my brother as he was very playful and active. I just liked to sit or sleep in the corner and tried not to get noticed too much.

My most vivid memory was a day that changed the rest of my life…
It was a Monday in June 2004 – being a public holiday the centre was packed with shoppers. My brother was showing off in the shop window and trying to get the attention of each and every person passing by. It was getting a bit embarrasing after a little while.

Anyway, I particularly remember a tall lady come into the shop with a black jacket on. She asked the shop assistant if she could hold me. I was shocked that I was even noticed. I remember her picking me out of the enclosure and holding me against her jacket. The jacket was so soft and warm. After a while she took the jacket off and sat it in her lap as she sat on the floor playing with me.

She seemed to like me and I liked her. But I sensed that she preferred kittens over puppies as I overheard her say that she was wanting to buy a kitten. I had to act fast – I wasn’t going to let a kitten get preference over me. I had to show the kind lady that I was meant for her. I had seen the kittens across the way in the other enclosure at the shop and had noticed that they slept alot. So I thought to myself “That’s it – I’ve got to act sleepy”. I walked straight over to the jacket in her lap, did a couple of turns to make myself comfortable and laid down to sleep.
It worked – she was smitten with me. I was so cute and hard to resist – how could she want a cat after meeting me?

After a while of playing with the lady she got up, put me back in my enclosure, spoke to the assistant at the store and then left. I was broken hearted and confused – what did I do wrong?

It wasn’t long before my hopes rose again. The lady had gone and done her grocery shopping, and then gone and bought a toy kitten (Tinka) and come back to rescue me from my annoying brother.

Since that day we’ve been the best of friends – we live together and have lots of fun doing heaps of exciting things.

Awesome creation!

The following photos remind me of how small we are in comparison with all of creation.

It reminds me of a song that I loved as a child based upon Psalm 8…

O LORD, our Lord,
how excellent your name is
How excellent your name in all the earth!
Your glory fills the heavens
the moon and all the stars
how excellent your name in all the earth.

When I think about the heavens,
the moon and all the stars
I wonder what you ever saw in me
but you took me and you loved me
and you’ve given me a home
And now I’ll praise your name eternally.
